Analysts say Klobuchar will have tough battle if she runs for president

February 6, 2019 By Bill Werner

Analysts say Senator Amy Klobuchar will have a tough battle, even among Democrats, if she decides to run for president. Hamline University Professor David Schultz puts Klobuchar in the second or third tier of presidential hopefuls. “Top tier are still… let’s say Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden and maybe an Elizabeth Warren,” Schultz says. “Then you get down to, what, the second tier of Kamala Harris, the Cory Bookers, Kirsten Gillibrand. She’s [Klobuchar] probably somewhere in that second tier.”

Klobuchar says she’ll make a “major announcement” Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis.
