The U-S Army Corps of Engineers is taking public comment for an additional month, through February 21st, on one of the permits Enbridge is requesting to upgrade its controversial Line 3 pipeline through northern Minnesota. Officials say they want to ensure interested parties have ample time to review the information and give them meaningful feedback. The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission gave its go-ahead earlier. Former Governor Mark Dayton challenged the ruling during his last weeks in office, but Governor Tim Walz has not yet decided whether he’ll continue the court case. A number of environmental groups also initiated separate legal action challenging the project.
