Arrest warrant out for 18-yr-old Cottage Grove man threatening school shooting

March 23, 2018 By Scott Peterson

An arrest warrant has been issued for an 18-year-old Cottage Grove man charged with making terroristic threats after threatening to carry out a school shooting. According to the criminal complaint, Tyler Giebner had an argument with friends on Wednesday and later told his mother that he planned to buy a semi-automatic rifle, bring it to Park High School and shoot numerous people. When an officer asked Geibner to describe what he had said to his mother, Giebner responded that friends were offering to sell him an AR-15 and handgun, but he didn’t have the money yet to buy them. Giebner allegedly told police once he had the guns, he was going to “walk in there and pow, pow, pow.” Giebner also acknowledged that he is having anger issues. Giebner is not currently in custody.
