A 34-year-old St. Paul woman has been charged after her seven-year-old nephew brought her loaded handgun to his school. Officials say Breanna Jones “recklessly” caused her nephew to be placed in a situation “likely to substantially harm the child’s health or cause the child’s death.” Police say the boy took the .38 caliber gun out of a drawer in his uncle’s room last Thursday and brought it to Crossroads Elementary school where a classmate fired it inside a classroom. No one was hurt. Jones has a permit to carry the gun and says she got it for “home protection.”
