The death of a rural Austin man found Sunday in the Cedar River has been ruled a homicide. Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi (AMM-uh-zigh) says authorities are not releasing information at this time on how 39-year-old David Madison died and it’s not known who committed the crime. Madison’s fully-clothed body was found by anglers in three feet of water about ten feet from shore. It’s estimated the body had been in the water one or two days. Anyone with information should contact the Mower County Sheriff’s Department.
