
Banham Sets Record
(Evanston, IL) — University of Minnesota women’s basketball star Rachel Banham of Lakeville tied an N-C-A-A single-game scoring record with 60 points to lead Minnesota past Northwestern yesterday, 112-106 in double-overtime. Banham, who had 10 points in the first extra period and eight in the second, finished 8 of 15 from 3-point range while matching the record first set by Long Beach State’s Cindy Brown in 1987. Gopher sophomore Carlie Wagner of New Richland added 21 points. Minnesota improved to 15-and-7 overall and 7-and-4 in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers host Nebraska on Thursday at Williams Arena.
