The owner and manager of a bar in Maple Grove both face felony charges for allegedly transporting Spotted Cow beer from Wisconsin into Minnesota for re-sale. The beer is brewed by New Glarus Brewing Company, which is not a licensed manufacturer in Minnesota, nor are its brews licensed or sold in Minnesota. Investigators say 37-year-old Brandon Hlavka of Saint Michael and 28-year-old David Lantos from Brooklyn Park told them they decided to drive to Wisconsin to get the kegs because they knew they couldn’t get the beer from any Minnesota distributor.
