If you want to simplify your life in 2017, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Minnesota has a couple tips to help get you off to a good start. BBB Spokesman Dan Hendrickson says it’s a good idea to sign up for the do not call registry, which you can do at donotcall.gov. He says that could limit some of the telemarketing calls you receive, but “not all, because the good companies will abide by those rules, and the bad companies, alas, will not.”

As for protecting your finances and identity:
Hendrickson says it’s also a good idea to dispose of older bank and credit card statements and expired credit cards and to secure or lock-up any sensitive documents you may have around your home and change your online passwords.
