Just when you thought you’ve heard it all, the Better Business Bureau reports a scam involving holiday quilts. The B-B-B says hundreds of people, including several in Minnesota and North Dakota, filed complaints that they paid for quilts they never received — most through a Facebook ad directing them to a firm called Amelia Cotton Quilt Company which claims to operate out of Oregon but is not registered with the secretary of state there. One Minnesota victim says they purchased three quilts from a Facebook ad in late November for about 180 dollars, but the tracking number was fake and the website disappeared. People who have lost money to this kind of scam should contact the Better Business Bureau and local law enforcement.
