A man is hospitalized after an officer-involved shooting by police in northwest Willmar Sunday afternoon. The BCA says police got a 9-1-1 call about a suicidal man. Two officers arrived and encountered a man with a gun in the backyard of a home, and at some point, both officers fired at him. Witnesses say they heard four shots. The man was brought to the hospital–his name and current condition haven’t been released. Both officers involved in the shooting are on standard administrative leave and their names have also not been released. Willmar police do not have body cams and the squad camera did not capture the incident, which remains under investigation.
