The Minnesota BCA has released the name of the man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Eagan. Authorities say they received a report of a man shooting a handgun outside his apartment complex Sunday. When officers arrived they approached 37-year-old Justin Kulhanek-Derks on foot and were immediately fired upon. Two officers returned fire, striking Kulhanek-Derks in the head. He died at the scene. The officers, Sgt. Nathan Tennessen an 18 year veteran of the Eagan Police Department and Officer Alison Burstein, a four-year veteran, are both on administrative leave. Officials say there is no video evidence of the incident and the officers were not wearing body cams. This is the first officer-involved shooting in Eagan since 1992.
