The Minnesota Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal by noted researcher Lynn Rogers over the D-N-R’s decision barring him from putting radio collars on black bears — but that may not be the end of it. Rogers say he plans to apply for a D-N-R permit to put web cameras in bear dens, something that brought him a large international following on the Internet in 2010. D-N-R officials weren’t immediately available for comment, but did say earlier they would *not* give Rogers a permit. Rogers says he wants to work cooperatively with the D-N-R. In July, the state Court of Appeals backed the D-N-R on its bear collar decision but said Rogers *could* resume using bear den-cams.
