Biden to accept nomination on final night of Democratic National Convention

August 20, 2020 By Bill Werner

It’s the final night of Democrats’ national convention, and Minnesota D-F-Lers are getting ready for a party at the Nicollet Island Pavilion in downtown Minneapolis to watch their candidate, Joe Biden, officially accept his party’s nomination for president. Delegate Ceri Everett from Red Wing says Biden’s compassion sets him apart from Donald Trump. “He shows compassion to others not because it makes him look good. It’s because it’s what he does,” Everett says.

Republicans’ National Convention is next week, and Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka says he’s amazed at what President Trump has done, particularly for the economy. “When people thought manufacturing and blue collar workers were going away, they are exploding in jobs and work and activity, and that’s been really good,” Gazelka says.
