A bill banning cell phone cases that look like guns is ready for a vote in the Minnesota House after clearing its final committee yesterday (Wed). Sponsor, Inver Grove Heights Democrat Joe Atkins, says the cell phone cases in question look so much like a gun, you can’t tell the difference. “Officers, more importantly, cannot tell the difference,” he says. “So if somebody pulls one of these out all of a sudden during a traffic stop, that officer’s gonna think this is a gun.” Meanwhile a Monticello company is in some Washington D-C lawmakers’ cross-hairs for its plans to manufacture a pistol that looks like a cell phone.
