A capital fund to support African American businesses…no grand juries when police kill suspects…no private prisons….and a strong state policy on officer body cameras — those are among agenda items unveiled by a broad coalition of black community groups today at the State Capitol. Community leader and activist Al Flowers says it’s one of the biggest things the black community across Minnesota could have done, and looks forward to seeing what happens at the legislature. Governor Mark Dayton is thanking community members for their input. The coalition unveiled its legislative agenda the week after Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced no charges would be filed against Minneapolis officers involved in the shooting of Jamar Clark.
