(St. Paul, MN) — Black Lives Matter St. Paul is planning to “shut down” the popular annual Red Bull Crashed Ice event with a non-violent protest if the group’s demands are not met. One of those demands is the termination of Sgt. Jeffrey Rothecker. He’s the St. Paul police officer who went on Facebook and suggested running protestors over at a Martin Luther King Junior Day event. He has since apologized and has been on paid administrative leave. The “shut down” event is planned for Saturday, February 27th at the St. Paul Cathedral and is being called #blackice.
