(Douglas County, MN) – A body was found southwest of Alexandria Monday afternoon and it’s believed to be that of a missing college student. A farmer called the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reporting he found what he believed to be human remains in the field he was harvesting. Deputies responded and confirmed what appeared to be remains of a female in her late teens to early twenties. Positive identification is pending. 18-year-old Laura Ann Schwendemann, was last seen October 14th in Alexandria. The car the University of Minnesota-Morris college student rode in the night she disappeared has been found. Police say the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation.
