A bonding bill for state public works projects remains in limbo with two days left in the legislative session. Governor Mark Dayton and Democrats are demanding more money than the 825 million dollars Republicans are offering. Senate G-O-P Leader Paul Gazelka says, “Our hope is that we have cooperation with the Democrats in the Senate. They voted unanimously against the bonding bill.”
Senate Democratic Minority Leader Tom Bakk says he still thinks there’s a “high probability” a bonding bill will pass. Bakk says, “The House is on the ballot and they’re gonna want to bring some projects home that they can put on their [campaign] literature to show people that they got some work done.”
