Brian Lamb has been replaced as general manager of Metro Transit by Wes Kooistra, who’s been the Metropolitan Council’s regional administrator since 2015. During Lamb’s tenure, Metro Transit ridership reached its highest levels in decades and Green Line light rail and A-Line rapid bus service began operation. On Lamb’s departure, the Star Tribune quotes Met Council chair Nora Slawik, who says “we’re really looking at the future” and notes current issues with homeless people sleeping on trains and challenges for financing new projects.
