Minnesota law enforcement handed out over 72-hundred tickets for seatbelt violations during stepped-up enforcement bracketing the Memorial Day weekend, and State Patrol Sergeant Jesse Grabow in Detroit Lakes says, “Each and every time, putting on a seatbelt should just be part of your regular routine driving. This really just serves as a reminder to do that each and every time you get in that vehicle.” Grabow says instead of giving drivers citations, law enforcement would rather have people complying with Minnesota’s seatbelt law.
