A Burnsville High School music teacher has been arrested and is accused of inappropriate communication with a student. Officials say Erik Akervik was taken into custody Monday without incident. Police had been notified about a complaint alleging that Akervik sent electronic correspondence containing sexually explicit material to a student. Akervik remains in Dakota County Jail awaiting formal charges, which could come as soon as Wednesday.
