Burnsville teen found dead at NDSU died of natural causes

October 16, 2017 By Tasha Redel

The parents of the Burnsville teenager who died in a North Dakota State University dorm room last month says their son died of natural causes. In a statement, 17-year-old Devin Delaney’s parents say their son “died peacefully in his sleep due to cardiac dysrhythmia caused by myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart often caused by a viral infection.” They say Devin never showed any indication of a heart ailment and that at no time did they suspect his death was caused by the use of drugs or excessive alcohol use, which the report confirms. Devin Delaney was a senior at Burnsville High School. He was found dead in a dorm room September 17th. He had been staying with a friend.
