A coalition of Minnesota businesses is pushing Congress to end the travel and trade embargo against Cuba. Luke Albee (AHL-bee) with Engage Cuba says bipartisan leaders in Minnesota support it, but in the nation’s capital, “it’s hard today to get Republicans and Democrats to agree that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.” Albee says, “We’re bringing companies who are interested in exploring opportunities in Cuba to the island to meet with Cuban government officials and others, to see what the road is, as we embark on this new chapter.” Senator Amy Klobuchar and Congressman Tom Emmer both attended Monday’s kickoff and say they support the effort.
