Minnesotans headed north to the Superior National Forest this weekend should check for access closures and other problems resulting from storms that tore up that area late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. Spokeswoman Kris Reichenbach says they’re starting to list some of the specific areas affected on the Superior National Forest website, and also have links through Facebook and Twitter. Reichenbach says it appears storms blew down the most trees in far northern areas of the Superior National Forest, from the Echo Trail to the end of the Gunflint Trail. She says crews were out all day after Wednesday night’s storms, clearing roads and trails, opening access, and looking for people who might need assistance.
