Seventh District Congressman Collin Peterson is breaking ranks with fellow Democrats, saying the way to end an “unnecessary” government shutdown is to give President Trump money for a border wall. Peterson says, “I don’t know that I want to give him a blank check, but I don’t want to preclude him from getting the money either, if he’s gonna use the money correctly — and we get the other stuff that we need on the border.”
But Peterson adds, “I don’t know how you get there” because the White House hasn’t called him, and he says fellow Democrats “kind of look at me cross-eyed” when he tells them what he thinks.
