Second District Congressman Jason Lewis says he’ll “make sure Minnesota’s laws are respected” — that amid uncertainty over the state’s medical cannabis program after federal officials announced new policies on enforcing marijuana laws. U-S Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Thursday instead of a more lenient Obama-era policy, federal prosecutors where marijuana is legal will now decide how aggressively to enforce existing federal laws which prohibit its use. Congressman Lewis says, quote, “the federal government has no business sending in the FBI and Department of Justice to prosecute people in full compliance with their own state’s law.”
