Crow Wing County officials are advising people to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills after an incident in Garrison on Saturday. Authorities say a 31-year-old Saint Cloud man is in custody after he attempted to use a counterfeit 100-dollar bill to make a purchase at a bait store. When the business owner confronted him, the suspect threatened to stab him if he didn’t give the bill back and the two got into a physical altercation. Investigators say a number of people other than the suspect have been involved with counterfeit bills in the Garrison area over the past year.
