A man charged in Minneapolis’s first murder of the year has a first court appearance today. Just before 5 a-m on New Year’s Day, responding officers found a car in north Minneapolis with two males inside who had been stabbed, one of whom died at the scene. 38-year-old Kevin Christians is charged with second-degree unintentional murder in the death of 25-year-old Jabir Ahmed Ali from Faribault. The other stabbing victim was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
