Minnesota now has 169 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (Sun), up from 137 the day before. Ten people are currently hospitalized — five in intensive care — and there has been one death. State Health Department’s Kris Ehresman says, “We are seeing more household clusters and an increase in individuals whose source of exposure is community transmission.” Ehresman says there won’t be a reduction in cases until the virus stops circulating in Minnesota. “Clearly our goal is to make sure that, because of our community mitigation efforts, that that spread is slow — slower than it would have been without intervention — but we have an entirely susceptible population, so we should expect to continue to see increases in cases, she says.
