Governor Tim Walz says positive cases of COVID-19 are showing up at the J-B-S pork processing plant in Worthington in southwest Minnesota. Walz says that facility’s management is in communication with the State Health Department and “the plant is up and running. They have implemented many changes to the plant in terms of getting out P-P-E [personal protective equipment] to their workers, putting up shields, and they have indicated to us the desire to go further.”
Walz says members of a lot of families work in South Dakota so there was “a lot of… cross-contamination.” He says state agencies are working with J-B-S to ensure safe conditions across the community in Worthington.
