Craig fends off challenge from Republican Kistner in 2nd Congressional District

November 5, 2020 By Bill Werner

Democrat Angie Craig will return to the U-S House for a second term representing Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District (Twin Cities southeast suburbs down to Wabasha), after that race was called today. The latest tally shows Craig with about a two-point, 94-hundred-vote lead over Republican challenger Tyler Kistner, who says he called Craig to congratulate her on the win. Craig, declaring victory yesterday, said she’s “so grateful to the people of this district for giving me an opportunity to return to Congress to continue this important work.” Craig defeated Republican Jason Lewis two years ago. Lewis ran for U-S Senate in this election, but lost to Democratic incumbent Tina Smith.
