Minnesota Congresswomen Angie Craig and Betty McCollum, and Wisconsin Congressman Ron Kind say they’ve secured 100 million dollars for emergency dredging on the Mississippi River, after pushing the federal government to release funds signed into law by President Trump in June. The lawmakers say because of last spring’s severe flood season, the Mississippi and other rivers have more sediment in them and channels must be cleared so barges can get through. Craig says farmers, families and communities depend on the Mississippi River for their livelihoods.
