Creative thief may have stolen narcotics at Moorhead Walgreens

October 26, 2018 By Tasha Redel

Moorhead police are asking for your help to track down a man they believe may have stolen drugs from a Walgreen’s pharmacy last month. Investigators believe that he may have found a loophole to go undetected when stealing from the pharmacy. Captain Deric Swenson says most area pharmacies have a policy to check a customer’s ID when a prescription is dropped off, but not necessarily when it’s picked up. Investigators believe a creative thief may have taken advantage of that policy, by simply asking for the prescription that didn’t belong to him. He says people are getting creative with ways to obtain narcotic prescriptions. Police are trying to determine if the thief and the rightful owner of the drugs may have known each other.  Thanks to KFGO.
