The Wisconsin artist who created the statue of Mary Tyler Moore for the Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis died two days after the television icon passed away, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Gwendolyn Gillen was 76 years old. When the statue of Tyler Moore tossing her hat in the air was dedicated, Gillen said of her subject, “She was the light breeze that blew through our minds and left us with the feeling that we could do anything we wanted to.”
