Crews battle blaze in downtown Melrose (Photo: WJON)
Crews from a number of departments are battling a fire in several downtown buildings in the central Minnesota community of Melrose. The structures house businesses and apartments, and a couple of people were reportedly rescued from an upper floor, but reporter Alex Svejkovsky at the scene says there’s no word yet whether everyone got out safely. The fire was reported just after noon and might have started in an apartment in the back of one of the buildings.
