The Catholic Diocese of Crookston will pay five million dollars to 15 survivors of child sex abuse by priests, under a settlement announced Wednesday. A Minneapolis law firm says the names of the priests will also be disclosed. The plaintiffs’ attorneys add with this settlement, the Crookston Diocese avoids Chapter 11 bankruptcy — a route other Minnesota dioceses took after facing dozens of clergy sex abuse lawsuits.
