Officials say a dam in southern Douglas County Wisconsin has broken due to heavy rains over the weekend and a torrent of water is headed down the Tamarack River, which joins the Saint Croix in Pine County. MN-DOT has closed Highway 48 at the Saint Croix River due to rising water levels. And Highway 23 at the south fork of the Nemadji River in Carlton County remains closed after flood waters washed out a section of roadway. Two people are dead in northwest Wisconsin due to weekend storms: The body of a man was found today near his submerged pickup south of Ashland, and another man died after a tree fell on his camper on Sunday in Sawyer County.
