Governor Mark Dayton has joined his counterparts in 11 other states, including California and New York, in urging President Trump to keep the U-S in the Paris Climate Agreement. The governors write to the president, ” Given the progress our states have made in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we are convinced that the United States’ goal of 26-28 percent below 2005 levels is readily achievable.” They say the 12 states stand to bear the brunt of climate change that is causing forest fires and water shortages, more air pollution, extreme weather patterns and the spread of disease-carrying pests.
