No across-the-board reductions in state agency budgets, says a top Dayton administration official as Minnesota Senate Republicans take input on their budget plan. Management and Budget Commissioner Myron Frans told lawmakers Tuesday afternoon, “Let me be clear: This arbitrary cutting of agency budgets is an approach that the governor does not support.” Frans says the governor insists that “all proposed budget reductions identify the programs and services that will be cut.” Republicans say agencies need to implement additional efficiency measures to use taxpayer dollars more effectively.
