(St. Paul, MN) — Governor Mark Dayton has appointed Margaret Chutich to the Minnesota Supreme Court. She replaces Wilhelmina Wright, who has been confirmed as a U-S District Court judge. Chutich, who was a state Appeals Court judge, also worked in the state attorney general’s office and the U-S attorney’s office. She will be the first openly gay member of the state Supreme Court. Judge Diane Bratvold will take over for Chutich as at-large judge on the state Court of Appeals.
