Dayton blasts POST Board director for comment on rape case investigations (with AUDIO)

July 25, 2018 By Bill Werner

“Lethargic response” and “callous indifference,” says Governor Mark Dayton about the director of the state board that licenses law enforcement officers. Responding to a Star Tribune report on inadequate investigations in rape cases, Nate Gove said he has not “seen the appetite” for legislative action. Dayton said Tuesday evening, “If that’s all the enthusiasm that he can muster for something that is as vitally important as this, then he doesn’t belong in that job.”

Dayton says “there’s a lot of initiative” the POST board could take. Gove wasn’t immediately available to respond.
