(St. Paul, MN) — Governor Dayton today (WED) instructed all state employees to “refrain from any non-essential travel to Mississippi.” That’s in response to lawmakers in that state allowing businesses and other organizations to decline services to people based on their sexual orientation. Dayton calls the act discriminatory and a violation of Mississippi residents’ rights. Dayton issued a similar travel ban to North Carolina after that state enacted legislation overturning protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation.
