It’s expected Governor Mark Dayton will announce his decision soon on a bonding bill for state public works projects. Carleton College analyst Steven Schier predicts Dayton will sign it because the alternative is no bonding bill at all. But Schier adds he wouldn’t be surprised if the governor line-item vetoes some Republican projects. He says, “There is pretty bad blood between the Republican legislature and the governor right now, and he sees an election coming up and probably doesn’t want to give any sort of a political advantage to Republicans in the forms of public projects.”
