Sheri Sexton of Millville joins Gov Dayton, Dems in asking for quick relief from high health insurance premiums
Governor Dayton and DFLers today made another plea to Republican lawmakers to pass immediate health insurance premium relief that would help more than 125,000 Minnesotans. Asked about his confidence level that lawmakers can come to an agreement soon, Dayton responded:
Minnesota citizens joined Dayton during a news conference this morning. Sheri Sexton is a farmer in Millville and says she and her husband are facing a $100,000 surgical bill and nearly 40-percent in premium increases. Her sons have jobs with insurance benefits…
Dayton is proposing a 25-percent insurance premium rebate. Republicans want premium relief to be based on people’s income and they’re pushing for long-term health insurance reform. Senate Republicans passed a relief/reform bill last week; the House will likely look at a similar measure this week.
