(Bloomington, MN) — There will be an increased police presence at the Mall of America today (WED) as Black Lives Matter protestors are set to rally (1 PM). Governor Dayton says the city of Bloomington has requested back up support from the State Patrol and other law enforcement and that there will be “in the neighborhood” of 30 state patrol troopers who will be present and in uniform. Governor Dayton says he remains sympathetic to the concerns of Black Lives Matter, who are asking for justice for Jamar Clark, the north Minneapolis man shot and killed by police last month. But, Dayton also acknowledges that based on a judge’s ruling yesterday, the mall has a right to prohibit public protests on its property.
