Governor Mark Dayton and legislative leaders are meeting behind closed doors, trying to hammer out an agreement on transportation funding, a bonding bill and the rest of the state budget with only a few days remaining in the legislative session. Senate Democratic Majority Leader Tom Bakk says transportation is the toughest piece and an important part of overall negotiations. Bakk says transportation talks will either unlock the stalled budget talks, or transportation will get pushed aside so other things — namely bonding and the rest of the budget — can move forward. Bakk adds the Senate is still waiting for the House to send them a bonding bill.
