Little progress as Governor Mark Dayton met behind closed doors with legislative leaders today (Wed), trying to revive a bonding bill for state construction projects that died in the final minutes of the legislative session. After the meeting an obviously annoyed Dayton said, “We are where we are. We’re not anywhere near being able to call a special session, and we’ll see if we can move ahead next week.” House Speaker Kurt Daudt says a special session is “unlikely” before July 1st — but leaders on both sides of the aisle agree it becomes more and more difficult as lawmakers get into their summer plans and the campaign season. Funding for Southwest Light Rail in the Twin Cities continues to be a major sticking point.
