Governor Mark Dayton is *not* calling for Senator Al Franken’s resignation, despite additional sex harassment allegations leveled against Minnesota’s junior senator. The governor says, “I will defer to the U-S Senate Ethics Committee to investigate and act on it before making any further judgment.”
Dayton says the U-S Senate has a “well-established and highly-respected process for reviewing situations like this and making the right decisions.” Dayton adds that’s not the case at the Minnesota Legislature and that’s why he called for the resignation of state Senator Dan Schoen — who along with state Representative Tony Cornish announced Tuesday he’s stepping down.
