Governor Mark Dayton signaled today he’s open to using bonding dollars and taking money from the General Fund to beef up funding for roads and bridges in Minnesota. Those are key elements of House Republicans’ transportation plan, and Dayton said he’s “not going to rule anything out”. He adds, “I think it is gonna involve going to a variety of sources, people taking some parts that they may not agree with, myself included.” But the governor also said “if we don’t raise the gas tax… things are gonna get worse” — and Republicans have repeatedly said a gas tax increase is a non-starter.
