Governor Mark Dayton says he does *not* support a bill that would legalize marijuana for recreational use in Minnesota and seriously doubts it could pass the legislature. The governor says there is “an epidemic of drugs floating through our society right now, and law enforcement’s gotta deal with all the consequences of it.” D-F-L Representative John Applebaum of Minnetonka says his bill would result in a billion-dollar “Made in Minnesota” marijuana economy with tax proceeds going to Minnesota schools. Eight states and Washington, D-C have similar “legal marijuana” laws.
